A wide view of Wildwood terrain.

The Wildwood, sometimes simply referred to as Wildwood, is the second Twilight Dimension. It is characterized by its blue hue, dense, vertical forests, and floating islands mixed with longer continents.

Accessing[]

To access The Wildwood, the player must construct a Wildwood Portal in any dimension. To create the portal, the player must first build a rectangular frame using Eden Blocks, ranging in size from a minimum of 4x5 to a maximum of 23x23. Once the frame is built, it is activated by right-clicking it with a Twilight Clock.

The portal allows most entities, with some exceptions[more information needed], to be transported to a corresponding point in The Wildwood. Travel through the portal is instant in any gamemode. If there is no corresponding portal, a new 4×5 portal is created. The portal can be destroyed by breaking the Eden Block frame, by a nearby explosion, or by placing water or lava into it with a dispenser.

Environment[]

Traits[]

Terrain generates in The Wildwood from Y=89 to at least Y=212[more information needed] (the highest points are reached by leaves from tall trees). There is no ceiling or floor, making a fall into the void almost certainly fatal. Plants and trees spawn across Eden, similar to the Overworld but all with the Wildwood's blue hue. Occasional lakes of Smoldering Tar can be found on the surface. Mobs in the Wildwood spawn regardless of time or light.

The Wildwood does not have a daylight cycle, but has the same weather at the same time as the Overworld. The sky in Wildwood has a large pink sun, and the time is between noon and dusk.

Coordinates in the Wildwood scale down 4:1 with the Overworld, meaning if a Wildwood portal is formed in the Overworld at x=1000, z=1000 in the Overworld, it will take the player to x=250, z=250 in the Wildwood, whereas if a Wildwood portal is formed in the Wildwood at x=1000, z=1000, it will take the player to x=4000, z=4000 in the Overworld. Locations in the Nether down up 1:2 with Wildwood coordinates, meaning if a Wildwood portal is formed in the Nether at x=1000, z=1000, it will take the player to x=2000,z=2000 in the Wildwood. Portals to all other dimensions use the same coordinates, meaning if a Wildwood Portal is formed in Apalachia at x=1000, 1000, it will take the player to x=1000, z=1000 in the Wildwood.

Most items and blocks in the Wildwood function the same as they do in the Overworld, with a few notable exceptions:

  • Beds do not explode when right-clicked, but do not function.
  • Respawn anchors cause an explosion 25% stronger than TNT and cause fires when one attempts to use them, as they do in the Overworld.
  • Compasses in the Wildwood spin around randomly.
  • Grass and leaves take on a blue color to match the Wildwood.
  • Nether portals cannot be naturally created in the Wildwood, though they will function if the /setblock or /fill commands are used to place them.

Terrain[]

The Wildwood has only one biome, named "Wildwood" after itself.

The Wildwood is composed of large, thickly forested land masses and smaller floating islands. The terrain of the Wildwood is much more vertical than Eden, with an abundance of hills and mountains. Most of the surface is covered in the Wildwood's large trees, as well as Wildwood's other plants. Wildwood Trees spawn in varying heights; some can be as short as 2 blocks tall, some are the same size as Oak trees, and some get up to 13 blocks tall. Most Wildwood trees are much thicker than Overworld trees. Underneath the surface lies Twilight Stone which extends to the bottom of the floating islands. Caves do not generate within the Wildwood, though some terrain may generate in low, partly enclosed areas. Veins of Wildwood Ore spawn under the surface of the Twilight Stone.

Generated structures[]

There are nine different structures that spawn in the Wildwood, all of which spawn on the surface.
